Bookshop Europa in Calpe
Bookshop Europa in Calpe opened in January 1999. It is the largest bookshop of any kind between Alicante and Valencia, both in stock and square feet. It serves many regular customers from Dénia to Alicante, and even further. The owner Gil, is an avid reader in five languages, and therefore can recommend books as well.
The shop has a range of topics. Fiction and non-Fiction Literature, Biographies, crime, art, photography, science, philosophy, books for children and youth, gift books, travel, maps and guides (including local ordinance survey maps), cookbooks, dictionaries and more. As well as books in English you will also find a selection in Spanish, French, German, Italian and Russian.
One can order any book in print and also books which are out of print. English books are roughly 10% more expensive than in England. Most books can be ordered in about one week. If you live far from calpe, books can be sent to you by post or courier.
There are also second-hand books for 50 cents each, and one can exchange them "one for one". For every book you bring, you can take one secondhand book, without paying anything.
Should you wish to send a gift to someone in England or Australia, it can be sent directly from the English publisher via Royal Mail in 24 hours to any destination worldwide. This will save you packaging, queuing at the post office, and relying on the Spanish post. One can also arrange for the books to be gift-wrapped and to add a greeting message.

Directions
From the National 332 take exit "Calpe Sur". You immediately get to a roundabout which has a statue in the shape of a large toilet roll and a fountain around it. You take there a quarter of a turn. Continue on that road following the blue and White parking signs, which say underneath "Plaza Mayor". You then see a grey building in the shape of a Greek Temple, which is a nothing but a parking lot. You may park there. 
Price is 1,30 euros an hour, but you may ask for a parking voucher at the shop, which gives you one hour free. From the parking lot walk down towards the sea. After 30 seconds you will see a Toshiba Shop. Turn there left and you are on the same street as the bookshop. Please note: If you choose to park elsewhere, you must put money in the meters if you park on a blue line. If you do not, or if you park illegally, your car will be towed away very quickly. It is the only thing done efficiently in this town.
